Yes, I’m a certified hamburger lover. And my choice for the top slot among fastfood chains is Tropical Hut.
Any Generation-Xer urbanite who loves burgers will go back to the incomparable classic taste of Tropical Hut’s hamburgers. From the bare Tropical Burger to my all-time favorite — The Classic Burger — the taste is distinctly fresh and lingers for hours!
I visited the Tropical Hut branch at the Jaka center along Sucat Road in Parañaque right after my routine laboratory exam. I went through a fast so this was a welcome opportunity as Tropical Hut was just a few meters away from Hi-Precision (the lab). This branch is open 24/7, by the way, and is considered a favorite haunt of those coming from a drinking session or those coming from the nearby Holy Trinity (funeral chapels, yes) for the Filipino tradition of the “pagpag” — a topic I’d probably do soon.
There are two Tropical branches (with the burgers, that is) in Parañaque, the other one is in BF Homes. Another Tropical Hut branch is along Doña Soledad Avenue in Bicutan but sadly doesn’t carry the fastfood part of the business.
My first encounter with Tropical Hut dates back in elementary school at the Don Bosco in Makati where the probably the first stand-alone branch was located. It’s no longer there (Eurotel stands there now). We used to eat there as a family especially after commencement exercises. It was a luxury to eat at Tropical Hut then. The classic burgers from then still exist today like the Rancho Ranchero and of course, the Classic burger.
Discover for yourself why Tropical Hut’s hamburgers are still at the top of my personal list of all-time favorites, if you haven’t been there. Well, enjoy the company of the old-timers who obviously know their burgers more than the millennials, plus the coffee that goes with the classic tone.
Tell me about your experience, ok?
