Treasured Tastes of Zong Zi

Zong zi - South of Metro

Experiences the rich tradition of Dragon Boat Festival through the timeless savoury taste of the zong zi, available only at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila’s authentic Cantonese restaurant, Lung Hin.

The zong zi is traditionally consumed during the Dragon Boat Festival, the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. This delicacy is believed to commemorate the nationalism of Chinese poet Qu Yuan.

This year, the Dragon Boat Festival will be commemorated on the 7th of June. Guests can share the gift of tradition with Lung Hin’s zong zi variants: Marinated Pork with Five Spices, which consists of glutinous rice, pork belly, peanut, red bean, salted egg, and five spices; and the Guangdong Traditional flavour, which features the Marinated Pork ingredients combined with roasted duck meat, dry lotus, dried mushroom, and mung bean. Both variants are wrapped in lotus leaf.
