My recent trip to one of the favorite hangouts of yuppies, somewhere south of the metro led me to a place called ‘Stoned’. Owned by Bong Regala, Filipino actor, talent manager and fashion photographer; and siblings Jaro and Azel Nathalie Cabarles, they welcomed us warmly in this meticulously stone inspired bar and restaurant along Dr. A. Santos Ave., San Dionisio, Paranaque city.
Yes, you read it right. The name of the place is ‘Stoned’. Contrary to what people nowadays mean by the word ‘stoned’, Bong and Jaro told us that the name of this bar and restaurant was intended to be understood as a ‘ liquor happy’ place.
True to its name, Stoned Bar and Grill never failed to impress us with the stone inspired tables and tableware, wall designs, portraits of John Lennon and Bob Marley, neatly placed on stone frames, and LED televisions showing videos of Manny Pacquiao, Jimmy Kimmel, NBA superstars and MTV hits.
Stoned Bar and Grill frequenters never fail to line-up for its customized Beer Pong Tables. Stoned’s beer pong tables are often a crowd favorite and is often responsible for hours of fun and enjoyment for barkadas or officemates, who are often looking for a place to spend their night away.
Bong and Jaro treated us with samplings of Stoned Bar and Grill’s AmerAsian fusion bestsellers, with price points that won’t hurt your wallet. Aside from the Cheese Sticks and the Spam Fries, you should never miss out on Stoned’s colored Nachos, which proves to be an added attraction to Stoned’s line-up of foods being served. Don’t forget however to include The Cheesy Quesadillas, it will be a pleasure to your palate.
If you happen to be looking for a place of music, fun, booze and laughter, Stoned Bar and Grill is the place to be.
Do watch out for Stoned Bar and Grills 3rd year anniversary on March 5, 2016.
Beer Pong competitions will be held on this day, while DJs Patty Tiu, Carlo Atendido, Calvin Felipe, Jay-Ar Almonia and Jay De Jesus will be alternately playing your favorite hits in the music station.
